About
December 1990. After Nucleus and Modulae the FTA kept pushing further down into the hardware, and the XMAS Demo is where that shows. By their own description it was the first GS demo with music playing during the disk loads, the first with overscan scrollers, and (they are proud of this) coded entirely in Geneva. It is a multi-part demo: a main screen with a scroller, and number keys that jump into the individual parts.
This one reprograms almost every aspect of the computer, which is also why it is the hardest FTA disk to run anywhere other than a real floppy drive. We did not find a hard-drive or SmartPort patched version. Boot in browser runs the original disk in the emulator's 3.5" drive; on a real GS you need the disk, or a floppy emulator such as a Floppy Emu in 3.5" mode.
