About
"La Demo Ki Tue, Part III." Released at the beginning of 1995 after two years of work, when most people thought the GS demo scene was finished, the Ninjaforce Megademo is the biggest production on the machine: a full-screen 3D logo intro over an animated star scroller (former FTA artist Olivier Bailly-Maitre's jaw reportedly dropped), an animated track loader with a big blue talking head, a main menu with a tune by Amiga musician Jester played through Shellplay (which needs GS/OS, so they emulated GS/OS), a BBS demo with three dependent bouncing spheres and a 640-pixel sine scroller, and Vaultage, the first real-time textured dungeon on a IIGS, started a few weeks after id Software said the GS could not do it. It later took first place in the Apple IIGS compo at Mekka & Symposium 1997.
Ninjaforce note that its tightly timed effects make it a benchmark for emulators and that none ran it perfectly for years. The release is two 800K disks; the HD installer (MD.HD.shk) plus the MD.Update patch for ROM 3 machines produce the hard-drive version, which is the one in our Demoscene P8 collection. Boot in browser mounts disk 1 in the first 3.5" drive and disk 2 in the second.
