About
Ms. Pac-Man GS is Jawaid Bazyar's Apple IIGS port of arcade Ms. Pac-Man, posted as v0.9 in October 2026. The game logic is a 65816 lowering of the original Z80, checked against frame recordings so RAM, tiles, and machine state match the arcade. The maze is scaled 6/8 to keep the portrait aspect on 320x200, with compiled sprites and a tile backing store. fatdog cleaned up the rescaled tiles and sprites. Sound is the original 4-bit wavetables expanded into the Ensoniq DOC.
It runs on a stock 2.8 MHz GS and on accelerators. C or 5 inserts a coin, 1 and 2 start a game, WASD, arrows, or the keypad steer, Control-S skips a level, Esc pauses, Open-Apple-Q quits. The disk is a GS/OS application on an 800K 2mg.
Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Man are trademarks of Namco, Bally/Midway, GCC, and successors. Jawaid posted this as an educational project and does not claim their license. This archive does not host the disk. Get v0.9 from his GitHub release. The Z80 work starts from Scott Lawrence's annotated disassembly.
