About
GRIDRIDER started as an attempt to adapt Activision's Beamrider and turned into its own game, with its own graphics and mechanics. You pilot a ship across a perspective grid, move through seven lanes, dodge asteroids, and clear waves of enemies. Destroy fifteen saucers to face the sector sentinel, and save a torpedo for it.
Single player, three lives at the start, lasers, three torpedoes per sector, and bonus lives. 320x200 graphics and Ensoniq DOC sound. Left and right or A and D move, Space fires, T launches a torpedo, F toggles auto-fire, P pauses, J toggles the joystick, Esc quits. Boot the .po, then press Space at the title.
