Accelerator Cards

Hi,

I have been impressed over the years with all the addons you can still get for the GS, such as network cards, CFFA/IDE cards, little power adaptors and even SCART leads.

The fact that people are still making this stuff is great and keeps me amused for hours :-).

It did make me think that would it be that hard to make an accelerator card for the GS considering the availability of the CPU and Cache chips etc? The ZIP GSX card doesn't have a lot of chips compared to the Transwarp GS card and the cards regurely go for a considerable amount on ebay.

Re: Accelerator Cards

I remember seeing 3 Transwarps on eBay listed by some guy at the same time. I could kick myself. They each went for less than $50. Cash was a little tight. I thought they would continue to show up. Show much for that idea.

Re: Accelerator Cards

If anyone's going to make new accelerator cards, it would be Reactive Micro/Ultimate Apple 2, but their list of current projects:

doesn't include accelerator cards, nor does their future list of projects:

But someone else may step up to the challenge.
