About
Dirk the Daring sets out to rescue Princess Daphne from Singe the dragon, through the castle and the caverns, with every room a trap. The 1983 laserdisc arcade game got IIGS sequels from ReadySoft in 1990, but the first one never came to the GS until Brutal Deluxe did it in March 2022.
As in the arcade, you do not steer Dirk; you react to what happens around him with a direction or the sword at the right moment. Four difficulty settings: None plays it as a movie, Easy shows on-screen cues for moves and fires, Medium shows timing, Hard is the arcade with no help. The demo runs at startup; Return starts a game.
The download is a 5.7 MB hard drive image in a zip, or a set of seven floppies to copy into a DragonsLair folder. This archive does not host the disk; get it from the Brutal Deluxe page.
